Restoration of Our Lady's Statue

We are excited to announce that our Blessed Mother has returned to her mountaintop home where she shines more brilliantly than ever before!  Unfortunately, we are still short of raising the necessary funds to pay for the costly repairs to her interior structural supports. We hope that through the generosity of donors like you, we can raise the remaining funds!

We humbly ask you to keep the National Shrine Grotto in mind as you  make your charitable donations.

When you give to this fund, you help with the additional unforeseen repair costs of this critical restoration of our Blessed Mother's statue and are a part of this historical effort.

"There is no reconciliation, O Mary, except that which thou didst conceive in thy virginity, no justification save that which thou didst nurture inviolately in thy womb, no salvation but that which thou didst immaculately bear. Therefore, O Lady, thou art the mother of justification and of the justified, thou art the begetter of reconciliation and of the reconciled, the Mother of salvation and of the saved. O blessed assurance, O refuge without fear! The Mother of God is our mother, too! The mother of Him in Whom alone we hope, Whom alone we fear, is our mother. We have for our mother the mother of Him Who alone can save us, Who alone will be our judge!"

These are the truths that set us free! They are the truths which alone can guarantee respect for the inalienable

“Why does the Church place ashes on our foreheads today? Why does she remind us of death? Death which is the effect of sin! Why?…To prepare us for Christ’s Passover. For the paschal mystery of the Redeemer of the world. Paschal mystery means what we profess in the Creed: 'On the third day he rose again'!…Yes. Today we need to hear the 'you are dust and to dust you will return' of Ash Wednesday, so that the definitive truth of the Gospel, the truth about the Resurrection, will unfold before us: believe in the Gospel.”

Whoever dies clothed with this habit will be saved.” In this way she extended, in visible fashion, her special protection over the Order that has always called itself her own."

All Saints' Day

Wednesday, November 1

Mass: 11:00 AM
Veneration of relics to follow

Today the Church celebrates all the saints: canonized or beatified, and the multitude of those who are in heaven enjoying the beatific vision that are only known to God.  Centuries ago, November 1 was set as the day for commemorating all the Saints. We are all called to the same holiness as the Saints. We are all called to "follow in His footsteps and conform [our]selves to His image seeking the will of the Father in all things. [We] must devote [our]selves with all [our] being to the glory of God and the service of [our] neighbor. In this way, the holiness of the People of God will grow into an abundant harvest of good, as is admirably shown by the life of so many saints in Church history"
(Lumen Gentium, 40).

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception celebrates the saving work of God in preserving the Blessed Virgin Mary from the stain of original sin.
