Restoration of Our Lady's Statue

The restoration process on the much beloved and cherished landmark statue of Our Blessed Mother is underway and we need your help!

We encountered a large setback this year when we began the process to regild this beautiful statue and found that the interior structural steel supports were corroded.  This critical repair, requiring significant and costly refurbishment, has already begun and will continue for many more months.

We humbly ask you to keep the National Shrine Grotto in mind as you  make your charitable donations.

When you give to this fund, you help with the additional unforeseen repair costs of this critical restoration of our Blessed Mother's statue.

Donate to help restore Our Blessed Mother's statue

Blessed Stanley Rother has become a Catholic hero.

A brave shepherd who laid down his life for his flock, Fr. Stanley was killed by a corrupt Guatemalan government after refusing to leave his Catholic community in the small town of Santiago Atitlan.

He attended seminary at Mount St. Mary's, and spent much of his time at the Grotto.

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Monday,  August 15

Holy Mass  11 a.m.  in St. Mary's Chapel

Rosary Procession through Grotto grounds immediately following mass

During the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary we lift up our hearts in a time of repose.

We contemplate Mary's beauty and recognize a time of consolation where we reflect on the reward that Mary enjoys. In the Assumption we look forward to sharing what Mary already possesses, the final glory marked out for her by God.

The International Exhibition: The Eucharistic Miracles of the World

Designed and created by the Servant of God Carlo Acutis

Displayed every first Saturday and Sunday of the month on Seton walkway
weather permitting

The exhibition at The National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes consists of a small selection about the 136 Eucharistic Miracles. Mount St. Mary's students and professors arranged this exhibit in conjunction with the Grotto staff to celebrate the Year of the Eucharist in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Acutis' exhibition presents a selection of the main Eucharistic  Miracles which occurred over the centuries through which you can "virtually visit" the places where the miracles occurred.
